Bengaluru, Oct 3: An 11-year-old girl from Karnataka whose birthday wish was to have PM Modi's image on the birthday cake caught the attention of the latter himself on social media.
The girl named Belaku, daughter of Mahesh Vikram Hegde, wanted PM Modi's photo on her birthday cake. The girl's father shared the same on social media.
Hegde tweeted, "Today is my daughter Belaku's birthday. I asked her 'What do you want on your birthday?' She said 'I want Modi Ji's photo on my birthday cake' Indeed, PM Modi is a Chor... A Chor who has stolen even kid's heart (sic)."
The tweet caught PM Modi's attention on social media who tweeted in reply, "Please convey my blessings to young Belaku. I pray for her happiness and good health."
The teenager's wish garnered both positive and negative replies on twitter. One twitter user commented, "Belaku Means light. Such a wonderful name. You are so lucky to have Modiji blessings Belaku. Happy birthday to you. God bless you with good health and happiness."
Meanwhile, some of the twitter users lashed out at PM Modi. One user commenting on Mahesh Hegde who was arrested by Karnataka police for alleged fake news, said, "Modi wishes a man recently held hy Karnataka Police for peddling fake news. Wah Modiji Wah."
Another twitter user said, "So this fake news portal ka editor is employed under you. Modiji can u give a #nofakenews challenge to him for a month. He would go mad."
The chor reference is about recent row of Rafale jet fighter jet deal with France by the Modi-led NDA government. The opposition especially the Congress has accused Modi of 'robbing' the country and benefitting several businessmen like Nirav Modi, Vijay Mallya and others. The BJP has denied any misuse in the deal.
