Bengaluru, Oct 5: BJP general secretary and Udupi-Chikkamagaluru MP, Shobha Karandlaje, said that the Congress and JD(S) have forged an alliance again for the bypoll in Jamakhandi and Ramanagara constituencies with the only aim of keeping BJP out of the race. Speaking here on Thursday October 4, she stated that both Congress and JD(S) do not have the potential to face the elections independently
and come out victorious.
"We are positive about bagging both these seats in the bypoll. Our party is supported by a strong team of ground level workers. Therefore, electoral understandings like these can have no impact on our chances," she asserted. She analyzed that in Jamakhandi, Congress is threatened by the strong presence of BJP. On the other hand, she felt that JD(S) does not have the inner confidence to fight and win Ramanagara constituency on its own. She added that her party is gearing up to face the bypoll.
Shobha agreed that her party does not have strong roots in Ramanagara but asserted that nonetheless, her party would be putting in efforts to wrest this seat. On the rumours about former Karnataka chief minister, S M Krishna, quitting BJP, she said Krishna would be with the party. She explained that Krishna had joined BJP, having been fed up by family politics in Congress and that he is neither angry nor unhappy with the BJP.
