Udupi, Oct 8: Anjali Water Park, the first-of-its-kind water park in the district was inaugurated on Sunday, October 7, at Hosur village, Karje, Brahmavar.
K Raghupati Bhat, MLA, Udupi and Pramodh Madhwaraj, former MLA and minister, inaugurated the water park, in a formal ceremony.
Fr Victor Fernandes, parish priest, Holy Family Church, Brahmavar, Fr Antony Vaz, OFM, Bhopal, Maimadi Sudhakar Shetty, member, zilla panchyat Udupi, Gopi K Naik, member taluk, panchyat, Nagaranthhan, president, Karje gram panchyat, B Ashok Shetty, Maimadi, and Valerian Menezes, president, Catholic Credit Co Operative Society, Brahmavar, Ravi Prakash and Jyothi Gonsalves, Alphonse and Rose Gonsalves, Riya and Risha Gonsalves were present on the occasion.
MLA Ragupathi Bhat congratulated Ravi Prakash Gonsalves and said, “We have many things in Udupi but what was lagging was a water park. But now, that has been overcome with the inauguration of this water park. This water park will definitely be a success. Families plan weekends at various places for relaxation. Looking at the people gathered here, we can calculate the response. After good response from visitors, there is a lot of scope for expansion. This place is far from the hustle-bustle of city and a good location for business. If one business is successful, then many such businesses will come. Let this business get all the success.”
Pramod Madhwaraj said, “Today, we may earn money in the cities but if we want mental peace, we have to visit villages. Overseas, people work heavily in the week days, but in the weekends, they spend time relaxing which helps one to increase productivity. Kids love playing in water. These days, children have started to play in ‘Kesarugadde’ events held in the fields. On this occasion I congratulate Ravi Prakash and family for establishing such a water park in the village of Karje. People who used to go for out of Udupi, can now come to Hosur village.”
“During my tenure I had spent nearly Rs 20 crore for various projects in Karje village. After the tender was passed, I had laid the foundation for road works worth Rs 25 lac. But due to some political issues, the work is held up. I pray that he work which is stopped should start at the earliest,” he said.
On the occasion, Suresh Shetty and family, and architect of the project, engineer Naveen D’Souza were honoured.
Jyothi Gonsalves welcomed the gathering, and Ravi Prakash Gonsalves thanked the guests. Arroor Thimappa Shetty compered the programme.
About Anjali Water Park
Anjali Water Park consists ‘Wave Pool’, which will be introduced in the costal district for the first time, Water Sliders for children and elders, Mushroom Umbrella, Rain Dance, Children’s Play Store and many others water games will be available. Anjali Food Court will serve vegetarian and non-vegetarian food for its customers. A mini hall is also present in the premise which can be used as indoor games or for any meetings.
Group booking can be done in advance. On advanced booking, special food also can be prepared on customer’s request.
The water park will be open in the morning from 10.00 am till 5.00 pm in the evening. On advance booking, the space can be used for occasions like birthday parties, family together etc from evening 6.00 pm to 10.30 pm.
