Davangere, Oct 10: A lawyer from Davangere, who was allegedly driving in an inebriated condition, assaulted two cops after he was stopped for a breathalyzer test.
The assault recorded by a pedestrian on his cellphone, shows the advocate identified as Rudrappa, furious on being stopped, starts throwing terracotta objects being sold by a street vendor on the side of the road on the traffic policeman.
While, one policeman suffers a deep cut on the forehead, Rudrappa in a fit of rage attacks the other policeman pushing him to the ground.
The Davangere superintendent of police Chetan Singh Rathore said the lawyer has been arrested and a case has been registered for assaulting officers on duty. The charges on drunk driving will be pressed, only after a medical report confirms the same, he said.
