Karkala, Oct 12: A three-year-old boy named Prashwik from near Kakkepadavu in Nandalike Golikatte, had suddenly disappeared from the courtyard of his house on the evening of Thursday October 11, after which social websites got busy with spreading stories of the boy having been abducted. These rumours gave rise to tension in the area. With the timely intervention of the personnel of the rural police station here, the case was solved, and the rumours were put to rest.
The boy happens to be the son of Prashanthi and Raghu couple from Kakkepadavu. His third birthday was celebrated on Thursday. He was playing in the courtyard of his home, but at about 4 pm, disappeared mysteriously. The family members searched for him everywhere but their efforts proved futile. They then complained to the rural police station here. Station house officer, Nasir Hussain and his team arrived at the spot and began a search operation. The team also contacted the office of the district superintendent of police and relayed the information about the missing boy to all the police stations.
During the detailed searches by the police along with a team of hard working youngsters from the village, the boy was found from inside the adjacent forest area about 200 metres away from his home. The child was inconsolably crying then but did not say how he reached there.
Uncle of the boy, Hariprasad, who happens to be a journalist, said that the boy had never ventured out of his courtyard so far. How the boy went into the forest is a mystery as no one saw him going there. The family of the boy has expressed hearty thanks to the locals, police, and the team of youth who worked hard and located the boy.
