Mangaluru, Oct 12: The members of VHP and Bajrang Dal protested in front of MCC office here on Friday October 12 against district-in-charge minister U T Khader over illegal cow slaughterhouses.
Addressing the protesters, Bajrang Dal leader Sharan Pumpwell said, "Ullal has become hub of illegal cow slaughter centres. U T Khader is giving priority to only one community and he is not interested in developing his constituency and the district. Again and again he has been giving statements against Hindu community and trying to hurt sentiments of us,"
"Now he is going to release Rs 15 crore of Smart City project for opening hygienic cow slaughter centres. Cow is holy for us. But now as per Khader's statement our tax is going to these slaughterhouses indirectly. We will never allow it. We need Smart City but do not want cow slaughterhouses in the name of Smart City. Everyone knows that cow is a sensitive issue in the district. But I do not know why district-in-charge minister is again and again supporting cow slaughterhouses," he added.
"Citizens want development in various sectors. We need roads, water and better infrastructure. But do not need cow slaughterhouses. We condemn the move to release crores for Kudroli cow slaughter centre. It is clear that U T Khader is behind all illegal activities in the district. We warn him if he continues his hidden agendas in the name of politics, he will have to face massive protests,” Sharan said.
"It is my kind request to all Hindu temples and its administrators not to allow UT Khader in temples and not to give him 'Prasada' and honours. He is a fake secularist. He does not want good relationship with Hindus," he concluded.
VHP leader Jagadeesh Shenava, said, “U T Khader is in hospital. It is power of our Gomatha. We are challenging Khader. If he has courage, let him release Rs 15 crore to Kudroli cow slaughter centres. We will see it later. We are ready to protest and take any action against these cow slaughter centres,”
“Khader is not bringing Rs 15 crore from his house. It is our tax money and we will decide how to spend it. By this protest, we are giving a warning to the minister. If he does not listen to our requests, we are not responsible if anything happens. Kudroli slaughterhouse is a canter of terrorists. Officers of below DCP rank are afraid to raid these canters. So government should immediately take action regarding this issue,” Shenava added.
