Udupi, Oct 22: Differences between lorry and tempo owners protesting in Udupi urging the district administration to permit sand mining came out in the open on Monday, October 22. Protesters were angry with lorry owner Uday Kumar from Santekatte.

Uday is a lorry and deck owner. It is said that he had allegedly walked to the office of deputy commissioner when protests were in progress and enquired about deck license. The protesters got into an argument with Uday and attempted to assault him.

The protesters, unemployed and anguished without permission for sand mining, could not tolerate him leaving the protests.

Policemen who were present there, dispersed the protesters. The incident showed that there are differences within the protesters.
