Bengaluru, Oct 25: Minister for municipal administration, Ramesh Jarkiholi, has written to social welfare minister, Priyank Kharge, seeking action against JD(S) MLC and pro-tem chairman of legislative council, Basavaraj Horatti. He wants Horatti to be booked for irregularities committed by him on the basis of report submitted by the commissioner of public instruction, Dharwad, relating to appointment of staff to Sarvodaya Shikshana Trust, Dharwad.

Jarkiholi, in his letter dated October 24 on four points, has asked the minister to see that management of Sarvodaya Shikshana Trust is handed over to the Math as per the orders of Dharwad district court. He also has sought  implementation of the reservation-based promotions act passed by the state government to protect the interests of scheduled caste and tribe employees.  He has claimed that as the new act has been approved by the President, no orders of any court about giving promotions to others would be binding.

He also has demanded to increase reservation percentage of scheduled tribes to 7.5 percent from the current three percent, and take steps to stop people not falling under the scheduled tribes from bagging reservation benefits by securing fake caste certificates.
