Mangluru: MCC Bank bids farewell to retired branch manager Eugine Rego

Mangaluru, Oct 25: A farewell programme for Eugine Rego, who voluntarily retired from the post of branch manager of the MCC Bank was held in the first staff meeting of the newly constituted board of The Mangalore Catholic Co-Operative Bank Ltd (famously known as MCC Bank Ltd), on October 24 at the administrative office of the bank int he city.

The general manager, Sunil Menezes in his introductory speech, welcomed the gathering and presented a review of financials of the bank for the last six months before the management and the staff members of the bank. He opined that perseverance will always give rich dividends and hence called upon the staff to work hard in achieving their targets.

Eugine Rego, branch manager of Ashoknagar branch, who retired from service due to ill health, was felicitated. Lancy Lobo, accountant of Ashoknagar branch, praised the selfless services of Eugine Rego for the last 35 years and wished her a very fruitful and healthy retired life. A 'letter of honour' (Maan Patr) was offered to the retired staff. Eugine Rego, in her reply to the honour, thanked the chairman, vice chairman, directors, general manager and specially the staff for their support and well wishes. She expressed her gratitude to all the former chairmen, directors and her former colleagues, who nurtured her and helped her to build her career in MCC Bank.



The chairman, Anil Lobo, applauded the exemplary services of Eugine Rego and called upon the staff to follow her footsteps in achieving heights at MCC Bank. He, in his speech, requested the staff to give preference to good customer relationship and instructed the staff to serve customers with a broad smile. He presented his views and future projects before the staff and requested them to work with a positive frame of mind in implementing these projects. Some of the projects which would be implemented are:

(i) E-stamping facility in all the branches (ii) Issuance of Senior Citizen Cards (iii) Issuance of PAN cards (iv) Implementation of Mobile Banking (v) NRI Cell.

He also stressed upon the need for recovery of loans and opined that recovery of loans is an on-going process and utmost priority should be given to recovery. He promised to revise the pay scale of the staff, provided the staff perform and yield good results.

Anil Patrao, director of the bank, requested the staff to be more enthusiastic and work with a positive approach. He said, “Board of directors are representatives of 30,000 shareholders (owners) of the bank and are answerable to them.” He stressed upon the need for various policies namely, HR Policy, Transfer Policy etc.

Jerald Jude D’Silva, vice chairman of the bank, called upon the staff to be more agile and to create a brand image for the bank.

Directors Marcel D’Souza, Elroy Kiran Crasto, Herald Monteiro, Denis D’Souza, J P Rodrigues, Roshan D’Souza, Irene Rebello, Dr Freeda D’Souza were present.

Deril J Lasrado, manager of Hampankatta branch compered the programme and Anand Prakash Nazareth, compliance officer, presented the vote of thanks.
