Mangaluru: MRPL to observe Vigilance Awareness Week

Mangaluru, Oct 26: Mangalore Refinery and Petrochemicals Limited (MRPL), is observing Vigilance Awareness Week, 2018 from October 29 to November 3. This year the theme chosen by the Central Vigilance Commission is “Eradicate Corruption – Build a New India”.

M.Venkatesh, managing director, MRPL said that while MRPL is fully committed to transparency, ethics and probity in all their business transactions, the company is equally enthused to spread the message of Eradication of Corruption and Build a New India.

Rajeev Kushwah, CVO, MRPL added that a slew of activities have been planned for awareness of public and students of schools and colleges in and around MRPL. In continuance with the ‘Integrity Pledge’ popularized by MRPL in the last two years through kiosks at Mangaluru City Corporation, Mini Vidhana Soudha and Zilla Panchayat Office, this year one kiosk will be set up at Surathkal Railway Station in association with Konkan Railway Corporation for facilitating citizens to take Online “E-Integrity Pledge”. MRPL is ready to put up kiosk at any other public place also. A mobile van will also be touring in and around Mangalore to spread the message of Integrity Pledge. Leadership Development programmes will be organized for the members of Integrity Clubs established at six Schools at Mangaluru in association with Rotary Club of Mangalore Port Town. An Inter Professional Collegiate Debate competition will be held at Sahyadri College of Engineering and Management on 2nd November 2018. Another Debate Competition will be conducted at Mangalore University for PG Students of different colleges. Street plays and Walkathon are also on the cards on November 1 in association with Govinda Dasa PU College, Surathkal and NGOs. An elocution competition is planned at Vidyadayinee High School at Surathkal on November 2 where more than thirty schools are expected to participate. A weeklong 30 minutes programme will be aired on All India Radio, Mangaluru Station from October 29 to November 4. A vendors’ meet is planned on October 30.

Within MRPL, various competitions like online quiz, poster making, online essay writing and short movie making are being organized for employees and dependents. Vigilance Awareness Week will also be observed at ONGC Mangalore Petrochemicals Limited (OMPL) and Shell MRPL Aviation Fuels & Services Limited, said K Upendra Rao,deputy general manager (Vigilance).

The program will be inaugurated by Manoj Chakravarti, COO, Centre for Corporate Governance and Citizenship, IIM, Bengaluru at MRPL on October 29.

Winners of all the competitions will be awarded during the Valedictory function of Vigilance Awareness Week on November 3 at MRPL. J Vinod Kumar, director, CVC, New Delhi will be the chief guest for the valedictory function.
