Mangaluru, Oct 27: In an accident which occurred between a truck and scooter near Mittakody, Mudipu here on Friday October 26, a woman riding the pillion of a scooter lost her life.
Jabaida (35), wife of Ismail from Panela village, who was seated in the pillion of scooter driven by her husband, lost her life after a truck knocked the scooter down. In this accident, Ismail suffered injuries, and was admitted into a hospital at Deralakatte for treatment.
The locals, who felt that the truck driver was guilty, pelted stones at the glass windows of the truck.
The couple was on way to Mudipu from Panela in a Honda Activa scooter when a truck carrying a load of rocks from the direction of Mudipu towards Melkar hit them. The woman got crushed under the rear wheel of the truck.
A case relating to the incident was filed in the city (south) traffic police station.
