Bantwal: ICYM enjoys gala Christmas Cup

Bantwal, Oct 29: ICYM Bantwal unit on October 28 organised Christmas Cup 2k18 which comprised of cricket for men and lagori for women at the church grounds.

Assistant parish priest Fr Ashwin L Crasta, vice-president Sandeep Menezes and secretary Richard Dsouza inaugrated the tournament by batting and hitting the dice of lagori. 10 teams took part in cricket and 9 teams in lagori.

After a few interesting matches, Sthri Sangatan led by Avitha won the first place for the third time and the church ward led by Gretta Moras won the second place. In cricket, Infant Mary/St Theresa of Kolkotta ward won the first place for the third consecutive time with Daniel Dsouza to lead the team and St Peter/Christ King ward led by Julius were the runners up.



ICYM members Aniketh, Anisha Frank and James Sequeira along with the assistant parish priest gave the commentary for the whole day. The referees for lagori were Avinash Jeevan Dsouza and Sandeep Dsouza. Scoring was done by Felita Noronha for lagori and Anikeith, James and Annet for cricket. The umpires for cricket were Avinash Dsouza, Daniel Dsouza, Robin Baretto, Vijith Saldanha, Sandeep Dsouza, James Sequeira, Marvin Dsouza, Denzil Dsouza and Criston Dsouza.

ICYM president Avinash Jeevan Dsouza and secretary Annet Carol Dsouza monitored the entire event was conducted smoothely.
