Mangalore: Noted Businessman Anand Rai Dies in Accident near Hassan

Mangalore, Nov 12: Anand Rai, noted businessman, Congress activist and rally organizer in the city died in a road accident near Hassan on Wednesday November 12 morning.

He had been to Bangalore with his friend, after finishing Tulsi puja and the incident occurred while he was coming back to the city, from Bangalore. He was running a restaurant near Circuit House. He also participated in many two-wheeler rallies and won prizes at the district-level. He is a rally organizer too.

Anand Rai also served as the president of Mangalore University All College Union and president of Canara College. He is a Congress activist too. His father Sunder Rai is a retired horticultural officer and his brother Santhosh Rai is an advocate and notary in the city.

Anand had married just two years ago. He is survived by wife and a child.
