Udupi: Ganja peddling - two from Odisha arrested

Udupi, Oct 30: Police personnel from the town station here took into custody two persons for trying to sell ganja illegally.  The arrests were made from near Kartik General Store behind auto rickshaw stand at Kallianpur Santhekatte on Monday October 29.

The arrested men have been identified as Debashish Sethi (27) currently residing at Subrahmanya Nagar, Puttur here, and Sanatan Patra (32), residing in a rented house at Santhekatte.

The two eke out a living by working as coolies. They stay in rented houses. It is said that they planned to make easy money by selling ganja which is available in plenty in their home state, Odisha, at low prices.

Police circle inspector, Manjunath, who got information about their activities, raided the spot and arrested the accused. A case about the incident stands registered in the town police station here.
