Mangaluru: Fish truck mows down pedestrian at Kotekar

Mangaluru, Oct 31: A pedestrian crossing the road was knocked down and killed by a fish truck. The accident happened at Kotekar Beeri Junction on national highway 66.

The victim has been identified as Rajeev (44) from Nityananda Nagar, Bagambila.

While Rajeev was crossing the road, the fish truck moving towards Talapadi from Mangaluru hit him. It is said that the truck was moving at high speed. Rajeev, who fell onto the road hard, suffered serious injury to his head and fracture of the left leg. He was admitted into hospital immediately.

Treatment failed to improve his condition. He lost his life on Tuesday morning. A case about this accident was registered at the traffic (south) police station here.
