Beltangady: Absence from poll-related work - show cause notice to PDO

Beltangady, Oct 31:  Dakshina Kannada zilla panchayat chief executive officer, Dr Selvamani, on Tuesday October 30, served show cause notice to panchayat development officer of Madantyar village, Nagesh, for dereliction of duty by not attending to duties entrusted to him relating to the town panchayat election work here.

Election for the town panchayat here had been held as per the orders of the state election commission. Nagesh was directed to report for duty as per the time table announced by the state election. He had failed to take part in the second phase training on October 26.The electoral officer and tahsildar, had issued him oral instruction to attend to his duties. He however absented from mustering work on October 27. The tahsildar, who was the electoral officer, had submitted a report to the deputy commissioner. The deputy commissioner who went through the report, had recommended to the chief executive officer of the zilla panchayat to suspend Nagesh. The chief executive officer said that further steps would be taken  on the basis response of Nagesh to the notice.
