Byndoor, Nov 1: Politics in the country has become contaminated, its systems have become corrupt and public life is on the way to disaster. I am contesting to change its course providing value based message of politics,” said Shivamogga Lok Sabha by election JD(U) candidate and state president Mahima J Patel.

He was speaking to news reporters when he was campaigning in Byndoor.

“Liquor and money flows in the elections now. Only those who make money by dubious means are able to contest in elections. Corruption becomes inevitable after elections to recover expenditure. No party or candidate is prepared for election amendment. At least some should show that it is possible to contest and win within the set limits. I have not followed the path of corruption in any of the elections contested by me,” he said.

Party spokesman Nagaraj, youth division's Shivaram, Keshavappa, Jayaprakash, Prashanth Sharma and Ravi Kishore were present.

“Rs two lacs are spent so far in the current election. Likewise amount will be required during the remaining period. It is much less than the amount permitted by election commission. All are following parentage now. J H Patel during his life did not allow elder brother Srishulapani or me to enter politics. We got into politics after his death and followed his values.”

“I contested from JD(S) in 2004 and entered Vidhan Sabha. I resigned for my post of MLA and party membership opposing non transfer of power as per agreement to BJP by JD(S) after twenty months of coalition government.

I did not worry about loss and win in the subsequent elections. Many people are inspired by my principles. I am confident that their number will expand,” he said.
