Udupi, Nov 1: The 63rd Kannada Rajyotsava was celebrated in Vakwadi Gurukula public school on November 1.
The school was decorated with yellow and red balloons. The programme was set in motion after hoisting Kannada flag.
A Kannada musical programme with songs related to Kannada land, language and culture was held by music teacher and students. Students in their speech spoke about the history and literature concerning Kannada. “We should not celebrate only Nov 1 as Kannada day but try to preserve and nurture it throughout,” they said.
Programme president Bandya educational trust joint executive Subhashchandra Shetty conveyed his best wishes. Apeksha R Pai compered the programme. Praneega proposed the vote of thanks. Kannada department head teacher Raghavendra Amooje welcomed all. Principal Arvind Marali conveyed his best wishes on the occasion of Kannada Rajyotsava.
