Kadaba, Nov 2: In an accident which happened at Kombarugatte Edehalli Cross near Ballupet in Sakleshpur taluk on Thursday November 1, Ujwal Manjunath (22), a college student, lost his life. He was the son of Uday Kumar from Pooringa in Koila in this taluk, and student of Vivekananda College, Puttur.

Ujwal had visited Hassan in  his motor bike. He was returning to Puttur when the bike skidded and fell to the road. Ujwal's friend, Ranjith, who was seated in the pillion, suffered injuries including fracture of his right hand.

Ujwal, Ranjit from Baltila in Bantwal taluk, as well as Jabid and Kuldeep from Beltangady had visited Shettihalli in Hassan in two motor bikes for watching sunrise on Thursday. They had left late night on Wednesday. As they had to make advance preparations for a programme planned at their college on Friday, the friends could only leave for Hassan late, after 11 pm on Wednesday. When returning after watching sunrise on Thursday, the wheels of one of the two motor bikes hit a pothole on the road, giving rise to deadly consequences.

Ujwal Manjunath, who fell to the road and suffered grave injuries, was taken to Hassan hospital but his life could not be saved. He is survived by parents and a sister. A case about this accident was registered in Sakleshpur rural police station.
