Dubai: Daiji Rang Mandir Marks Third Anniversary

Dubai, Nov 16: Daiji Rang Mandir [DRM], a unit of Daiji Dubai, a forum of Konkani writers in the UAE marked its third anniversary at Al Mas Residence Hall on November 14, 2008.
DRM is an association consisting of talented Konkani stage artistes formed in order to promote and train younger stage talents around UAE. The third anniversary event was marked with the presence of Rang Mandir members and their families, noted entrepreneurs of the community and other guests.
Olwin Pinto, took charge of the event with his spirited compering. Sunita Menezes, secretary of the Association read out the achievement report .
Dayan D'Souza thanked the supporters, members and sponsors of Rang Mandir.
Michael D'Souza of Oasis Court unveiled the new logo and banner of Daiji Rang Mandir.
Rang Mandir members Dony Correa and Asha Fernandes were felicitated during the event for their participation in the recently concluded Gulf Voice of Mangalore. Walter Nandalike, Editor in Chief of daijiworld.com spoke on Gulf Voice of Mangalore and UAE's singing talents. He congratulated the first runner-up Dony and finalist Asha Fernandes on behalf of Daiji Rang Mandir.
Mark Denis D'Souza and James Mendonca presented mementoes to Dony and Asha respectively.
A variety entertainment programme , bundled with comedy skits and songs, followed. Rony Baindoor, Asha Fernandes, Dony Correa, Asha Correa, Ashok Menezes, Sunita Menezes, Manohar Pais, Joseph Mathias and Lancy Madtha sang melodious Konkani numbers.
The audience enjoyed the skits put together by Pradeep Barboza, Puis James, Santosh D'Souza and Laveen Fernandes.
Daiji Rang Madir founder Hemacharya was also present on the occasion.
