Udupi, Nov 16: President of Karnataka and Goa zones of Jamaat-e-Islami Hind Abdulla Javed said on Saturday that it was necessary to promote peace and justice in the country.

He was speaking at a public meeting, organised by the Udupi district unit of the organisation, at the arrival of its peace and justice caravan here.

Javed said that terrorism and communalism were disturbing the peace and harmony in the country.

There had been 50,000 incidents of communal violence in the country in the last 60 years.

These incidents could have been avoided if people had made efforts to understand one another. It was necessary to have harmonious relationship among the communities.

‘Follow spirit’

It was incumbent upon the people to know and understand their own religion and other religions as well. Every religion spoke of peace and harmony. No religion supported violence. People should follow the real spirit of their religions, Mr. Javed said. Writer Varadesh Hiregange said that peace based on fear was not real peace. It was necessary to understand, respect and accept diversities of various religions. This would help in fostering peace. Economic factors were responsible for lack of peace in society, he said.

Priest of Balkunje Church William Martis said that it was wrong to brand an entire community as terrorists because one member of that community turned out to be a terrorist. Vittaldas Bannanje welcomed the gathering. National secretary of Jamaat-e-Islami Hind Iqbal Mullah presided over the meeting. U. Anwar Ali proposed a vote of thanks.

Such kind of programm are need of the hour, since communal forces are trying to devide the nation for another time.We should all join together our hands to shun the communal forces. Well done and congrats to JIH. Mr. Imran, If muslim women could expose herself in every nonsense activities and in markets, what is wrong if they are come out of their home for real purpose of life(that is establishing justice). In the time of prophet women used to participate in JIHAD. So we should encourage our women to fight for Justice.

It looks nice when people raise their voices for a comman cause.Jamathe Islami being a social organisation and aiming at political power need to demonstrate their activities and strength to the masses. It is also true that for the last 60 years Jamathe Islami could not achieve much in their objectives due to stiff oppossition from the many quaters of Muslims through out India and Abroad.

Using Women and children is one of the objectional thing raised by many scholars against Jamath.Jamath also need to correct its mistakes in the organisational approach and its adherence to Quran & Sunnah.More Schoalrs are needed to provide guidance to this Jamath if it wants to succeed in its goal.

More people are deserting the Jamath now a days due its weakness in following the true Islam.Even the founders of Jamathe Islami have left them due to this problem.I request all the jamathe Islami Members( Who are few in numbers) and also their supporters to listen to various scholars who spoke against the fundamental errors in the constitution of Jamathe Islami.I do appreciate their efforts but not sure of their approach and success.

Dear Imran Kaup, Dubai if you think that call for "Harmonious relationship among the communities, promote peace and justice in the country, and stop terrorism and communalism" does not make any sense & of no use for you than what to say about you. You yourself describes that you are not different from those fanatics. And what is the wrong with if Muslim Women attending public rally. Prophet Muhammad (May Peace & Blessing be Upon Him) given both “Good & Bad” credit to Women. He said that "If Society is good then those areas women are Good and Vice versa". That’s because she plays vital role in looking after her family, well up bringing of her child and maintain good relation with neighbors and relatives. If woman has better awareness of society, better she could serve the family. I doubt that your name Imran may be a hoax one Al Mighty knows best. JIH keep up the good work and our well wishes with you. Thanks to Daiji for coverage.

Thanks Daiji for you don't miss anything for communal harmony, peace and justice. Congrats Fr. William Martis. Your open hearted and broad minded view is the need of the hour. Other clergymen and religious need to think beyond and reach out to the social causes, reforms, issues like justice, peace and harmony than limiting oneself only to cultic practices. Let us learn from Muslim women who have hit the street against injustice.

If muslim women take part in the public awareness programs with in the boundries of Islam,it will be a great success for the growth and development of India. Then it should be the duty of every muslims to support Jamat e Islami.Teachings of Quran and Prophet is that "guidance is only from Allah but to establish peace and justice in the world is given to the human being. Mob terror has killed more people than the bomb terror in India. Condemn all types of terror. Mob terror, communal hatred, greed for power breeds other types of terror. Let us make use of our freedom of thought and not be led by some political parties. Any Govt., if the public do not experience peace and justice then it is not the right Govt. Justice delayed is justice denied. Suffering injustice encourages the perpetrators. A feeble cry for justice will not suffice. There needs to be a massive awakening of the general public, so that a sense of justice may prevail.
