Mangaluru, Nov 21: As part of Swaachh bharath Abhiyana, shramadana event was held by Bertrand Russell English medium high school on November 18 and 19. The school coordinator for Swachh Bharath Abhiyana Aparna and VIth standard students actively participated in the Shramadhan for about two hours in and around the school campus.
Students with name boards of ‘Clean Baikampady’, ‘Plastic-free Zone’, and ‘Cleanliness drive’ were striking features at the entrance of the school campus. Correspondent Nisha Lakshman, principal Vatsala, and administrative officer Geetha were also present.
The team held shramadan at Chitrapura. The function began with an inaugural at the Moghveera hall near Chitrapura beach.
Later on, the shramadana event was held for about two hours. There were more than 100 people who took part in the shramadan. Students from Bertrand Russell English medium high school and government school Kannada medium also gave their active participation. Ganesh Hosabettu was an active member in the shramadan. The students along with the team of Swachh Bharath Abhiyan were divided into eight groups and were allotted different places in and around Chitrapura till the highway. Even locals from Chitrapura joined the shramadan to keep their surroundings clean.
