Bengaluru: Minister Anant Kumar Hegde courts controversy with ‘daylight rape of Hindus’ comment

Bengaluru, Jan 3: Union minister Anant Kumar Hegde has once again kicked off a row on the day of entry of two women devotees into Sabarimala temple saying it was 'daylight rape of Hindus'.

Reacting to women entering the temple, Hegde said, "Kerala government has totally failed. I would like to say that it is totally daylight rape of Hindus."

He further said that without hurting the faith of the masses, the government should have managed law and order diplomatically.

However, the BJP minister has been receiving a lot of backlash for his statement comparing women's entry to daylight rape. Netizens have slammed the minister for making controversial statements whenever he opens his mouth.

One of the netizens commented that Hegde was a lose tongue of the BJP. "Rape of Hindu people? Is there a single person in the BJP who is sane? He asked.

Another person commented, "When an 8-year-old was raped and killed inside a temple, nothing happened to the faith of BJP."

Another person opined that the minister was adding more fuel on the already volatile situation in Kerala. "BJP, PMO do take stock of the situation in Kerala, before more innocent Hindu lives are lost," he urged.

On Wednesday, Janaury 2 two women, in their forties entered the Lord Ayyappa temple. Hours after their entry, the right-wings and the BJP protested. Clashes were also reported with police resorting to tear gas bombs and water cannons to disperse protesters.

    A person who has no faith in the constitution, what respect will he show for the rule of law and the orders of the Supreme court. The BJP does not believe in gender equality and has established itself as Anti Women, Anti Middle Class, Anti Dalits, Anti Working Class, Anti Youth.

    Kerala issue is exactly what BJP wanted! Now we have successfully politicized the incident, martyred a devotee and made aware of the presence of BJP in Kerala with a hartal.     Where is BSY. Eswarappa, R.Ashok, Shobha Karandlaje, Renukachary, Prahlad Joshi, Basavaraj Hitnal, C.T.Ravi , Nalin Kumar Kateel and other BJP leaders? Are they dumb and deaf when Minister Anant Kumar Hegde insulted Hindus? THat minister has no control on his tongue, despite that Amit Shah has made him a minister!     The Union Minister Anant Kumar Hegde may be referring to his own party colleague Rajya Sabha member caught in 'Me too'. Perhaps he may be thinking about his Ganganagar MP Nihal Chand Meghwal being dropped as MoS in the Ministry of Panchayati Raj, the woman who had accused him of rape.
    Will Mr. Hegde let India know the characters who caught in 'daylight' from Udupi in CD sleaze from his party, then one who promised to marry and raped her and attempted suicide? What about the BJP ministers caught watching 'porn' in the assembly in the midst of assembly session?
    Why the minister and BJP are silent on the crimes in the daylight of Hindu underage girls being raped in 'shelter houses' of Bihar, Dehli and Uttar Pradesh drugged and supplied to politicians?

Allocation of Rs 1,000 crore remains unspent for the third year in a row ... allocated Rs 1,000 crore towards the Nirbhaya fund. The Supreme Court also says "nothing would materialise" if the money from the Nirbhaya fund is not properly spent on women's welfare

    Only the BJP government sleeps like 'Kumbhkaran' in daylight ignoring the plight of Hindu women and sheild the elected members accused in the rape and provide legal assistance.

    This Hegde is a shame to the post of MP. He has no moral right to continue as MP and should resign immediately. I could not understand which type of waste things Modi has stored. Hegde is family member of Shoba, Sakshi Maharaj, sharan, Puranik, Ravi Shanker, Shaitan Patra, etc etc etc e5tc etc.
    This Hegde is not commenting the rape of Democry being carried out by bjp govt.
