Bengaluru: Vishwanath agrees to stay put as JD(S) state president

Bengaluru, Jan 4: The drama behind JD(S) state president, H Vishwanath's announcement about resigning from his post due to ill health has ended. Vishwanath announced at the public meeting organized by his party at J P Bhavan, central office of JD(S) here on Thursday January 3, that he will be with Deve Gowda as long as he is alive.

"I went to the residence of Deve Gowda on Wednesday morning and handed over resignation letter citing ill health from my post, and requested him to relieve me from all the responsibilities. But he was hurt at my decision and told me that if I resign, he also will withdraw from all forms of politics.

He also promised to provide me an able team to support me so that I need not work hard. I have accepted his suggestion to continue as the party's state president," Vishwanath explained.
