Tel Aviv: Konkan Catholic Sangatan Celebrates Christmas

Tel Aviv, Dec 26: The Konkan Catholic Sangatan (KCS) of Israel, organized Christmas celebrations at Barbouk Hall, Hagana Street, on Wednesday December 24.
‘Konkan Beats’ began the programme with Christmas carols followed by Eucharistic Mass at 9.00 pm on Wednesday. Kokkada parish priest Fr Stany Monteiro, offered the Holy Mass with hundreds of faithful while the liturgy was conducted by Anil Miranda.
Santa Claus welcomed the large gathering of faithful during the stage programme. Fr Stany Monteiro presided over the function. Mumbai Jeevanjal ministries Br Trevor Lewis who was the chief guest and KCS organizer Melwyn Furtado Bajpe, were present on the dais. The dais was decorated by Sunil Miranda Bantwal and Praveen Aranha.
Fr Monteiro and Br Lewis awarded prizes to the winners of various competitions. NGC Nofiyam, Superstars Tel Aviv, bagged the first and runner-up awards while Kings Partner bagged the third prize.
KCS felicitated Fr Monteiro by draping a shawl and presented mementoes. Fr Monteiro also delivered a heartwarming Christmas message emphasizing the significance of Christ’s birth.
Leena Menezes Koppa won 5,000 Israeli shekels (around Rs 60,000) at the auction of Christmas cakes held on the occasion.
Praveen Pereira Taccode compered the programme and Johnson D’ Souza proposed the vote of thanks.
