M'lore: LPG Bullet Tanker Overturns at Farangipet: Traffic on NH 48 Hindered

Mangalore, Jan 7: A bullet tanker carrying liquefied natural gas from the MRPL here to Bangalore overturned in Farangipet a little distance away from the city, while moving on the edge of the road for making way for an oncoming vehicle, in the early hours on Wednesday January 7.



The driver and cleaner of the vehicle suffered minor injuries in the incident. The accident occurred in the midst of Farangipet town. The fallen vehicle covered half of the national highway 48, blocking traffic. As the accident happened in the wee hours when the police personnel were not present, long queues of vehicles was formed on both the sides. The policemen arrived on the scene later and regulated the traffic.

In the meanwhile, fire department officials have arrived on the spot. The company concerned is expected to take steps to clear the road by shifting the vehicle aside, after taking all the precautions necessary, as the tanker  is fully loaded with highly inflammable material.

    The road at Farangipet is so damaged from many months and its not repaired. Can the NH authorities correct the road near Farangipet and avoid further accidents?

    especially mentioned that it is a highly inflammable material, then the public is still walking surrounding the accident spot, and also seen that only one fire service vehicles stand by there for the huge tanker !!! if this highly inflammable material start leaking who will be the responsible???? either the public/ Truck driver/ Police / Fire service dept????? " may people also don't know what is highly inflammable material !!! if the poor people doesn’t know about the highly inflammable material then what the Fire service dept doing over in the spot ???? at least to wrap a hazard barrier surround the danger area!!!! ( may Fire service dept also don't know what can be happen if it start leaking ??? )
