Moodbidri: MITE Youth Red Cross holds health check-up camp

Moodbidri, Jan 21: Mangalore Institute of Technology and Engineering (MITE), Badaga Mijar under the banner of MITE Youth Red Cross, held a free medical health check-up camp for students of Government Higher Primary School,Neerkereand villagers of Neerkere on January 11. The Chief medical officer of the camp, Dr Joslita Rebello, created awareness on the importance of health.

Former president of the school and current gram panchayat member Ramesh Shetty commended the social work of MITE. Principal Dr G L Easwara Prasad, who presided over the inaugural function of the camp asserted that children fall sick these days due to malnutrition. “Good health is possible by eating nutritious food and exercising regularly,” he said.

Dr Supritha S Devadiga and Dr Ujwal U Suvarna helped in examining the participants. Mamatha C compered the programme. A large number of villagers and students benefited from the camp. As many as 265 students and residents of the Neerkere village took part in the camp.
