Mangaluru: Specially-abled children of Chetana Bala Vikas Kendra celebrate Republic Day

Mangaluru, Jan 26: The specially-abled children of Chetana Child Development Centre, V T Road, here celebrated their 70th Republic Day with fervour on January 26 with a variety of activities to display their unique talents.

Chetana Bala Vikas Kendra is a unit of Seva Bharathi.

Former mayor Shashidhar Hegde, chief whip and leader of the opposition in City Corporation, Premamand Shetty were the chief guests. Seva Bharathi president Sumathi V Shenoy, headmistress Supritha, teachers, non teaching staff and volunteers of Chetana School were present.



After the flag hoisting by the dignitaries and recitation of the National Anthem, a march past by the specially-abled children was perfomed.

Stage event included a variety of cultural programmes and drill by the children. The programme concluded with distribution of sweets.
