Moodbidri: Neo Generation Singers Add Spice and Flavour on Last Day of Alvas Virasat

Moodbidri, Jan 12: After five days of successive musical extravaganza by national and internationally acclaimed musicians at Alvas Virasat here, the new generation of singers from television serials staged a musical programme on Monday January 12 evening, that provided feast to the eyes and ears of people who wanted to lap up every bit of what was going on at the Alvas Virasat venue on the concluding day of this immensely popular annual show.
The viewers gallery at Alvas Virasat in Shobhavana here was packed to capacity on Monday evening, despite all the odds the audiences faced, like having to travel all the way from Mangalore, Udupi, Karkala etc., and the need to go back to their places in time to be able to attend to their daily chores the next day, this being a week day. The trouble they took did not go waste, as they were fortunate enough to witness the cultural extravaganza staged by the new generation of TV serial singers on the concluding day of Alvas Virasat.
The programme began with the hit song, 'Shivashankari …..' rendered by Puttur Narasimha Nayak, a talented singer from the district. The viewers appreciated the singing of up and coming musicians who proved their talent to the delight of a wide range of the audiences. Pallavi Prabhu from Mangalore sang the highly popular number, 'Nadayya Kotilingaveke….'while other singers Apoorva Sridar from Bangalore, Rameschandra's son Akshayachandra, Ashwin Kumar, Sriraksha K, Anirudh Bangalore, Ramya H, Nitin Rajaram Shastry, Yashwant, Manjunat, Surekha Gopal Hegde, Apeksha Pai Moodbidri, Diksha Ramakrishna, Ramya, Nisha Jain, Manojam and Hamsini enthralled the audiences with their melodious singing of Kannada, Hindi and Tamil movie hit numbers.

Alvas Virasat – 2009 witnessed the rare Jugalbandi musical concert of Pandit Chourasia and Ghazal singers of international repute. It was indeed a great joy to listen to both old and new Hindi and Kannada hit songs by talented new generation singers on the concluding day. The new generation of musicians truly added their distinct flavour to Alvas Virasat. The music buffs will have to wait patiently for one more year to witness the distinguished culmination of music and cultural extravaganza by renowned musicians.
