UAE, Jan 14: The Alumni/Alumnae of India’s two prestigious institutions - the St. Aloysius & St. Agnes College & Schools of Mangalore will hold their "Agnesian-Aloysian Re-union 2009" on Friday, 06TH February 2009 from 10.30 a.m. onwards till late evening at the picturesque location of Sharjah Wanderers Club – Sharjah, U.A.E.
The Event is taking place in the Emirate of Sharjah for the first time and has generated lot of interest among the old students of both institutions. The CHANGE in venue will definitely be an action-packed extravaganza and the organizers are confident the event will be a runaway success.
Both the institutions have impacted the lives of thousands of students, regardless of their religion, culture, and ethnic background in their cultural, educational and intellectual values.
St. Aloysius College and School, established by the Jesuit Priests over 125 years ago, have produced some of the best stalwarts that have risen to different career successes in different parts of the world!
St. Agnes College/School – the all women college, run by the Apostolic Carmel nuns, which has nurtured thousands of young women, who have established themselves successfully in every sphere of life.
The old students of these premier institutions are holding high profile and prominent positions all over the U.A.E. and have proved and established their presence wherever they have reached.
1999 Event at Al Mafraq Hotel - Abu Dhabi
The intention of the organizers is to unite together, all ex Agnesians and Aloysians with their families for a day of fun and interaction and to recall old memories of their college / school days.
The event will be compered by UAE’S top compere Errol Goveas in his own unique style. The Live All Aloysian/Agnesian Band will keep the audience spellbound and on their toes with their lovely music and songs. The Musicians have put in extra effort in practicing throughout these months and it will be surely all out entertainment throughout the day.
2005 Event at Al Jazira Resort
It will be an excellent opportunity for the alumnae/alumni’s to meet, greet and share their past and present among the long lost friends, whom they have not met for ages.
This re-union will be exclusively for the old students and their families.
The event is taking place after two years and has already generated lots of interest among the alumnae/alumnies. The event is termed as one of the well organized events since its inception several years ago.
It can recalled that the first Re-union of old students of St. Aloysius college/school outside India was held in November 1997 with the initiative of veteran Jerome Periera (Jemma Padil) and since, the events are being organized on regular basis in the UAE. This will be the 4th combined event of both Aloysians and Agnesians held in the UAE.
The Change of Venue and the new format will definitely be an added attraction – a welcome “Change” from the Past.
The invitations for the event are already out and it will be purely on first come first serve basis, due to space constraints and logistic problems. Transportation will be available to and from the venue as required with prior arrangement.
