Mangaluru, Jan 31: As part of the celebration of ‘Constitution Week’, the Quiz Association of St Aloysius College in collaboration with Dakshina Kannada SVEEP committee organized Quiz competition for Electoral Literacy Clubs of DK District recently at L F Rasquinha Hall.

The quiz was conducted by quizmaster Savin D’Souza.

It was open to all PUC and degree students of Dakshina Kannada district. From various colleges participants enrolled in large numbers. Two participants made a team. Through the prelims top six teams were selected for the finals.

Valedictory ceremony was graced by principal of St Aloysius College Fr Dr Praveen Martis SJ, director of admin block Dr lwyn D’Sa, dean of Arts, Dr Vishanz Pinto and extra curricular coordinator Precilla D’Silva.

The principal addressed the gathering and spoke on the importance of the constitution and democracy of India. He thanked the SVEEP committee and sponsor Dr Selvamani R IAS chief executive officer of Dakshina Kannada Zilla Panchayat for bringing awareness about the constitution through this quiz competition.

Cash prizes worth Rs10,000 were distributed among for top four teams and e-certificates for all the participants were awarded. The consolation prize was bagged by Ahmed Inayathullah and Sinan Naufal of Roshni Nilaya College. The third place was bagged by Mahammed Zunaid and Sinan K of Sri Dhavala College. The second place was bagged by Milton Pinto and Harshith of Sri Venkataramana Swamy College. The first place was bagged by Mithunraj and Abdul Hisham of Govt First Grade College, Carstreet, Mangaluru.

The audience feedback was that the quiz was very informative and it gave information about various constituencies and election process. This event was successful with the help of quiz presidents Vanaja, Neeldeep, Praveen and secretaries Kavin Fernandes, Savin D’Souza and quiz association members.
