New Delhi: Three Former Karnataka MPs from BJP Join Congress

Samay Live

New Delhi, Jan 21: With Lok Sabha elections round the corner, the Congress today got a shot in the arm with three former BJP MPs from Karnataka joining the party.

The three new high profile entrants to the party are K T Sangliana, former MP from Bangalore (North); Manorama Madhwaraj, former MP from Udupi and Manjunath Kunnur, the former MP from South Dharwad.

Addressing a hurriedly called press conference, AICC general secretary in-charge of Karnataka Prithviraj Chavan said the the former MPs have pledged unflinching support to the Congress party.

While two of the MPs who joined the party had defied the BJP whip and voted for the UPA government in the July 22 trust vote, Madhavraj had abstained from voting.

Asked whether the three leaders will be given Congress tickets for the next Lok Sabha elections, Chavan said, "When the process starts, we will decide about it. We will use the best talent." To a query as to what was the guarantee of the three not going back to the BJP, Chavan said, "...They have faith in the Congress party." The three who deserted the saffron party also met party President Sonia Gandhi before making the announcement at the AICC headquarters.

Asked about the statement of AICC media department chief M Veerappa Moily that the "migratory birds" are not welcome in the party, Chavan said, "they are old friends of the Congress. They are welcome."

Make India for every Indian and every Indian for India. Make every Indian proud to be an Indian. President Barak Obama acknowledged that USA is for all the religions and non believers. When India will have such a leader?

This was expected. K T Sangliana Ex Police Commissioner of Bangalore during the time of S. M. Krishna as Chief Minister was regarded as the most honest, diligent cop and also tough cop. He was basically not a politicians but police officer. After his retirement from Karnataka police services he had contested election on BJP seat and became MP from Bangalore as his popularity amongst Bangaloreans were very high. He has supported the Nuclear issue taking into consideration the Country first and party later. The insult what BJP workers had meted to him during 2008 is beyond imaginable. After all he was not BJP MP during this time. Monorama Madvaraj joining back to Congress party is nothing surprising as she was discarded lately by the Brahmin lobby as they did not wanted Magaveer to be in power above them. How far her entry benefits congress is only time will tell us.

Good! Better than good!! We need more of secular thinking. Everyone needs to survive in Karnataka. At the moment only BJP and its supporters can live rayally. Others.....its destiniy. Govt representatives need to use one yard stick. Yard stick have been different for different situations for our oun DK native home minister and kannadiga Yediyurappa. Those who watched Obama's inaugural speech, Lot of our politician indivividual heads should bow down with shame as far as integrity is conserned. He is representing a nation of Christians, muslims, Hindus, Jews and non believers. Look there is a room for non believers also. Our nation for BJP is of one belief only. In this respect, defectors into Congress will play as a good balance.

A resistace to MISCREANTS and VANDALISERS. Change for the good of our native. Lets enjoy a good competition on belifs, principle and ethics. This world is for all who believe in decipline and fellow human being. Let our native neighbour too have a right to survive immaterial of religion. Today if India is surviving over recession and golbal town turn, it is becasuse of Manamohan Singh and Chidambaram. Did we have any alternative? We may get some body in the future. At the moment we have shortage of sucgh people be it any party!

When congress party men leave and join Bjp, for them it is good. When bjp men leave the party and join congress it is waste but for congress it is good. People attracting to congress and a good sign for Congress. People attract to bjp and it is a good sign for bjp. Nothing but conversion of one party men to another party.

Either parties are unwilling to amend the law but only enjoy defections. Notes displayed in the parliament by bjp men was a political gimmick. Any tom, dickens, harry can bring notes and display saying such and such party has corrupted. If truly bribed why not registered FIR with police at the same time?

Dear Vishal D’souza, How you know the people of this state lost faith in Congress, definitely it will become a further headache for the party itself. Anyway, Congress is enjoying huge support now from the public, definitely all of these candidates political future in party. Do not think about congress party. You think about your party only. Congress will rule the Country in the next election with full majority. Congress is happy with their entry. We hope Mr. Manmohan Singh, Lalu Prasad Yadav & Mrs. Sonia Gandhi will PM, HM, Defense minister or vice versa.

Dear? mr nagesh nayak, where was BJP's wisdom when they gave HT sangliana its ticket to contest election? Now accusing that he & sonia are from the same religion. Your's or rather BJP's mentality is highly degenerated/prejudice, looking every thing from unpatriotic angle, remember both HT sangliana & Sonia are the proud citizens of Hindustan.

It's enough of Congress Rule in India, really people are tired. No party raises its voice against terrorism except BJP & Shiv Sena. So what can we expect for the politicians who jump from one to another party for thier selfish political needs. These are traitors of this country, they dont have any love for country instead they love money, power. Need of the hour is eradicate terrorism at first priority, then developement. Both cannot move together, if you have money & wealth but you dont have security what is the use??? Best example is Bombay incident where businessmans, professionals , investors have been killed.

Definitely Congress party will be a huge mess in the Lok Sabha elections. If these leaders given ticket from Congress party to contest elections for sure there will be huge rebellion within Congress. Although people of this state lost faith in Congress, definitely it will become a further headache for the party itself. Anyway BJP is enjoying huge support at the moment from the public, definitely all of these candidates political future has come to an end. BJP will rule the Country in the next election with full majority. BJP is happy with their exit.We hope Mr. L.K Advani & Mr. Narendra Modi will PM & HM or vice versa. Mr. Development oriented CM Mr. Narendra Modi will be the best to rule our country at present.

Dear commentor, please note there is no use of comments against any leader. Whatever and whenever they jump from one party to other, during the election time you should vote according to our will. But what I do like to comment here that please forget these leaders who jump from one party to other party they might be a good leader or not think of party's profile. Now what is going on in our Mangalore, when saffron party came immediately their leaders to start attack on minorities, slowly they will control our state/country and whole backward/minorities will become thier slaves. I know very well that some of present state ruling party leaders are goondas and they are start to grab poor peoples property through mafia in Mangalore. Dear reader is this you want to rule our state/country.

I strongly support Dr. Manmohan Sing as a our prime minister, is any one is capable rather than Mr. Manamohan sing. I Salute Mr. Vajapaee who was the capable to rule our country in NDA govt. Please note do not trust the present saffron party, their backgroud comes from Mafias. Please you think 100 times before you vote. Do you want communal crises OR better development of our country ? Just you think. Do not go for any Political Party. Think about our leaders who can do better for our country with peace and armony.

Well, one more episode, camera was on 4 months ago, that time it was long shot, now its short shot. No surprise, this was expected. Everything is fair in love, war and politics too. Because, this is PolyTics (Tricks). It’s common in Indian political scenario. They have the Right to change the party. But, voters (citizens) should decide what to do and whom to elect. Well, Sirigannadam Gelge and Mera Bharat Mahan.

Political buffoons have no values. Al though political monkeys jump from one party to other, as per their convenience they still get vote because we voters are greater fools. We should stop attending any public functions involving such politicians whichever political parties they may belongs.
