Bahrain: Konkani Kutam Singing and Dance Contest

Bahrain, Jan 25: 30 children participated in the “Konkani Kutam” Bahrain Konkani singing and dance contest held on 23rd January 2009 at Karnataka Social Club premises.

The competition was open to all Konkani speaking children in Bahrain. It is held every year to encourage the children to display their talents & thus to promote Konkani language & culture.

There were 3 Age groups in singing competition & 2 Age groups in dance competition.  The winners are as follows;

SINGING CONTEST :

4 to 8  years

8 to 12  years

2. Evita Castelino
3. Adlin Alva

12 to 18  years

1. Hanna Miranda
2. Shaun Alva

DANCE CONTEST :

All the participants were given consolation prizes.
Lunch was served to all those who were present.
