Saudi: Konkani Cultural Day in Riyadh

Riyadh, Feb 1: "Aangan Konkneche, Riyadh – Saudi Arabia" organized a cultural event- "SANGAM 2009" on Thursday January 29, 2009. It was a day to remember for the Konkan Costal Canarites in Riyadh.
Arun D'Souza, Palimar President of "Aangan Konkneche" welcomed the guests.
The cultural programme began with a Prayer song to the tune of “Sakche Nav Tuka” by Eden, Jessy, Anitha, Manoj, Eric and Arun.
The Bharatha Natyam dance was performed by Melanie Pinto and skit was played by Marcel D’Cunha and Group. Jokes and Mimicry was done by Bhasker P.M. The singers Eden, Manoj, Mahadev Shetty and Eric mesmerized the audience with their melodious voice. Chelsea, Chester, Eden Group, Andrea group, Naval Group and “Brothers” from Malaz, Riyadh added more colors to the cultural evening with their Dances. Manoj ,Rekha & kids enthralled the audience with their dance Bum Bum Bole from Tarein zameen Par ”
Melwyn Pinto anchored the entire event. Spot games were conducted by Royston Prabhu.
There were also guests from Dammam, Ronald Fernandes the President of SKY DAMMAM was called upon to draw the Lucky Coupon.
Sumptuous dinner was served to all and the cultural program continued.
The Committee members Arun Jessy D’Souza, Eric Anitha D’Sa, Manoj Rekha Mascarenhas, Axel Jacintha Rego, Ambrose D’Mello, Vincent D’Souza, Marcel D’Souza and Stany Cardoza Joined together at the stage
Mangalorean Baila Dance was a special attraction as everyone joined to the dance floor.
Eric D’Sa, Pangla propsed vote of thanks, the programme ended with the national anthem Jana Gana Mana.
