Dubai: USWAs - Shirva Parishioners' Fest on Feb 13

Dubai, Feb 1: USWAS, an association of Shirva parishioners residing in the UAE, under the leadership of Vincent Corda, is setting the stage for its Shirva Fest 2009 which will be held on February 13 at the famous Grand Hotel (Poolside) in Dubai.
Amidst overwhelming response from the parishioners as well as members of the Konkani community in Dubai, USWAS has planned a fun-filled day of variety entertainment for those who wish to be a part of Shirva Fest 2009.
Fr Valerian
The Chief Guest for the event is Fr. Valerian Mendoca,who will specially come from Mangalore only to bless the event. He is the Director of Sandesha Foundation for Culture and Education, and Principal of Sandesha College of Fine Arts, Mangalore, He is a Poet, lyricist and educationist.
The Event will be hosted by Uttam Menezes, a well known MC of the Gulf. He has been a host for several programmes in different languages like Konkani, English, Hindi and is fluent in Tulu and Kannada as well.
The Event will have lots of fun games, spot prizes & dances from local talents. Shirva’s well-known comedians, 'Boscambegars' are all at hard efforts to bring out some of the comedy short skits.
Asha Maben Known as Shirva’s Kogul, to perform some melodious songs on Shirva Festh 2009. Asha is a well known name in music industry as she has rendered her voice for many musical shows & musical albums (in Konkani, Kannada & Hindi) Once she was the core female singer for ‘Mand Sobhan’ group.

Known for his music & singing talent, Canute Mathias another local talent from Shirva also to perform some lovely numbers.
Upcoming talent of Shirva, Joy Almeida also to perform on Shirva Festh 2009.
Another upcoming talent in singing field, Sharon Rego also to stage some melodious numbers on Shirva Festh 2009. She had been a contestant in Sony Television Indian Idol 2008 reality show and was also one of the semi finalist’s of recently held Gulf Voice of Mangalore contest.
Well known singing talent Dainy D’souza of Pamboor parish also to perform on Shirva Fest 2009. Dainy has rendered his voice for many musical shows in Dubai and had performed for Shirva Utsav held in 2008.
Apart from Konakani songs Vincent, well known guitarist & singer also to perform some of the hit western & Eastern (hindi) songs to add variety to the musical entertainment.
Well known band, ‘SWEET MELODIES’ of Dubai under the leadership of Arun Carlo along with other musicians to provide live musical entertainment for Shirva Fest 2009. Arun Carlo has rendered music for Konkani CDs like Zala Love, Mogachin Laran etc. and is well known for his rich talent of music in Dubai & Mangalore. He has assured the best of his performances for Shirva Fest 2009.
A lavish buffet dinner will be served on the day as also you can enjoy lots and lots of music and Entertainment all day long.
