Doha: ‘Bunts Sloggers’ win maiden ‘Bunts Qatar Premier League’

Doha, Feb 28: ‘Bunts Premier League - Season I’ cricket tournament organised by Bunts Qatar was concluded successfully on February 22 at QCA grounds, Lusail.

The day-long event involving more than 70 players had 4 teams, 16 team owners and equal number of supporters. The tournament saw some close finishes between the teams.

In the finals, ‘Bunts Sloggers’ batting first scored 100 runs loosing 7 wickets in allotted 10 overs, mainly due to fine batting display by Nilesh Shetty, who scored 42 runs. Chasing a fighting total, Bunts Hitters got off to a slow start but few good hits in the middle overs did made up for the slow start. However, tight bowling towards the end by Bunts Sloggers made their chasing difficult and eventually they could score 87 in 10 overs loosing 5 wickets.



Earlier, Bunts Phantoms defeated Bunts Busters to claim 3rd spot. Fair play award went to Bunts Busters. All the 4 teams played in the true spirit of the game.

In a short prize distribution ceremony, prizes were distributed to winners. Deepak Shetty (President), Ashwin Shetty (GS), Swaroop Shetty (Sports Secretary), Nithin Shetty ( Logistics Secretary), Dr. Padmashri Shetty (Cultural Secretary), Nithyanand Shetty( Special Needs & Membership Secretary), Supriya Shetty(Joint Cultural Secretary), Navneeth Shetty (Chairman of Advisory Bunts Qatar), Ramachandra Shetty ((ICC- Head of Inhouse activities), Asmath Ali (President Tulukoota, Seetharam Shetty (Past President Tulukoota), Chidanand Naik, GM, M Pallonji and other dignitaries were present who enjoyed the game of cricket.
