Bengaluru: Krishna hails Modi for 'surgical' air strike

Bengaluru, Feb 28 (IANS): India's former External Affairs Minister S.M. Krishna here on Thursday hailed Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the "surgical" air strike on terror camps in Pakistan by the Indian Air Force (IAF) on Tuesday.

"I compliment you (Modi) for the bold and decisive step to smash the terror camp of the Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM) at Balakot in Pakistan through surgical air strike. It was long overdue," said the 85-year-old in a letter, he shared with IANS.

He said "by smashing the terror camps, we have avenged the cowardly attack" on February 14 that killed 40 CRPF troopers in Kashmir's Pulwama district.

Krishna said the pre-emptive strike made millions of Indians walk the talk with pride.

"By targeting only the terror hideouts, training camps and not touching the civilian, military or commercial establishments, India under your visionary leadership demonstrated that we are a mature nation, capable of taking decisions based on merits," the letter to Modi read.

    People like you who spread hatred are useless to society.. You people have so cheap mentality.. War-Do you know how many families will be shattered? Where is our defence minister? Has he done anything to get back Abhinandan? What if your son was in their custody?

    I hated Pakistan earlier but now I respect them as our own brothers and sisters for their gesture.

    You are a very knowledgeable person from Karnataka, You speaking like a child is not good for Kannadigas atall, think who makes youngsters terrorist, robbers, unlawfulness and harassment when they go to the police stations and any Govt Offices, it's the Central Govt because there are no jobs for these persons to look after the Families. So who is responsible for these Graduates in all sections.
