Karkala, Mar 1: Shivamogga district deputy commissioner, K A Dayanand, who had earlier announced the decision to close Agumbe ghat road for a month to undertake repairs from March 1 onward, said that the order has been partially modified, and that the road would be closed for a month from March 19. This decision was taken in view of PU examination being undertaken from March 1 to 18, and taking into account the problems PU students from the region might encounter if the ghat road is closed.

The engineers of highways authority have been instructed to make advance preparations to commence repairs on March 19, he stated.

Now, the parents of SSLC students are worried as SSLC examination will continue till April 4.
