Udupi, Mar 2: Udupi-Chikkamagaluru MP Shobha Karandlaje said that she will try to start an ESI hospital in the district soon. “Private hospitals are not service oriented,” she said. She was speaking in a programme held in Rajatadri to felicitate workers on Friday, March 1.
She distributed special awards to 12 workers for their achievements and Shrama Sanmana awards to 96 others.
“Workers employed in 14 different categories in the state are identified as unorganized. Free medical examinations should be conducted for workers and their families every year. The workers should benefit by pension schemes and other schemes implemented for the workers by the central and state governments,” she said.
