Mangalore, Feb 10: 'Rangarangotsava-09', a four-day drama festival was inaugurated at the St Aloysius College auditorium on Monday February 9.

The festival was inaugurated by Sukanya Maruthi, professor, Dharwad University. She said that theatre keeps the artists alive and the various activities can help increase the audience.
 
Veteran theatre artist N S Rai (Babanna), was felicitated by Karnataka Bank AGM Jagadeesh Moleyara on behalf of the organizers.
 


Fr Sweebert D'Silva, principal, St Aloysius College, presided over the function. Organizing committee convener Na Da Shetty welcomed everyone while secretary Saraswathi gave the vote of thanks.

Nine plays will be staged during the four days of the festival. On the first day, the drama 'Mahamayi' directed by Jeevanaram Sullia was presented.  The award-winning drama attracted a big audience.
 
Nine drama teams from colleges in Dakshina Kannada and Udupi districts are participating in the festival.

    Na Da Sir, Congrats. I remember you orangaised same with Karnataka Nataka Academy and Abhivyakat Mangaluru in 1995.Lots of Students now who staged drama that time are into theater,T.V.serials and Films working in different streams.Keep the good work sir.Nice aritcle Daiji team.
