Moodbidri, Mar 3: Yogeesh (29), who was working as village assistant in Dharegudde gram panchayat, was recently transferred to the taluk office here. Yogeesh passed away all of a sudden on Friday. His colleagues and members of the general public who expressed suspicion about his death, placed his mortal remains in front of the taluk office here on Saturday and demanded detailed probe.

Yogeesh, who had gone to bed at his home, had not got up. When the family members tried to wake him up, they found that he had suddenly taken very ill. They arranged to take him immediately to hospital, but he breathed his last on the way. There were rumours that he had consumed poison but its veracity could not be ascertained. Post-mortem report alone can bring out the truth, his relatives said.

Relatives of the deceased and office bearers of state revenue department and government village assistants association handed over petitions to the tahsildar, urging him to undertake detailed probe into the death of Yogeesh.
