Doha, Mar 3: M.I.C defeated the Sponsor team CDC by 38 runs in the inaugural match of the 30th CDC Cricket Tournament 2019 at the Losail Cricket Complex.
After winning the toss, MIC decided to bat first. In the humid and heavy weather, MIC had started confidently and scored 26 runs for the loss of 1 wicket in first 6 overs. Atiq played some lusty shorts and added 50 runs off 25 deliveries with 5 sixes and a boundary. Rizwan contributed 25 runs with six and two boundaries. Thereafter Akhtar and Wahid added 21 and 20 runs in the totaled respectively. MIC scored a massive total 167 runs in the allotted 20 overs for the loss of 4 wickets.
For CDC, Omer, Fahad, Arif and Nasir took 1 wicket each.
In reply, CDC started the innings slowly and steadily but lost their openers Omer, Abdullah and Fahad cheaply with score of 22 by end of 5th over. Thereafter Arif and Shabbir played confidently and scored 32 runs with a six and 4 boundaries and 20 runs with 3 boundaries respectively. CDC scored 29 runs for the loss of 3 wickets in first 6 overs. CDC finally were all out for 129 runs in 18.1 overs.
Nasir took 3 wickets for 11 runs, Khalid and Zakaria took 2 wickets each, Ehtisham, Arif and Atiq took 1 wicket each.
For his all- round performance, Atiq of MIC was adjusted Man of the Match.
Earlier, in the Morning, Sanjiv Jain – Business Development Manager of CDC along with Sai Manoj – General Manager of Millennium Travels inaugurated the tournament in the presence Qatar Veterans Cricket officials, all players and match officials.

Enginering Supplies were all out for 98 runs in 15.2 overs (Rusty 31 runs in 18 balls with 3 sixes and a boundary, Shemil 20 runs in 13 balls with 2 sixes, Kunal 4 wickets for 3 runs, Shoaib 2 wickets for 19 runs)
In reply, Mitra Mandal 99 runs in 19.2 overs for the loss of 9 wickets (Kunal 48 runs in 23 balls with 4 sixes and 4 boundaries, Ajay 14 runs in 18 balls with a six and a boundary, Shreejith and Siraj took 2 wickets each).
