Mangalore: Renuka's 'Talibanization' Comment Provokes Protests

Magalore, Feb 10: The Hindu Janajagruthi Samithi and other organizations jointly protested against union minister Renuka Choudhury, in front of the city corporation office on Tuesday February 10.
Nagarika Hitharakashana Vedike leader Hanumanth Kamath, addressing the protest said, “Renuka Choudhury should apologize for her comment about 'Mangalore Talibanization' for it hurts the people here and her statements have brought shame to Mangaloreans. So, she should apologize within a week. Otherwise we will go to court against her”, said Kamath.
Advocate P P Hegde speaking after the protest said, “The statement by the union minister is a shame for the city and we will wait for her apology. Otherwise we will go to court”, he said.
Samithi members burnt a photo of Choudhury. Hindu Janajagruthi Samithi president Shivananda Prabhu and others were also present.
