Udupi: 43-year-old becomes latest victim of monkey fever

Udupi, Mar 5: A person from Sagar taluk in Shivamogga district, who was being treated at KMC Hospital here for monkey fever symptoms, breathed his last on Monday March 4 afternoon, as he failed to respond to treatments.

The deceased has been identified as Chandrappa (43). Blood sample tests had revealed that he had contracted monkey fever.

Chandrappa was brought to KMC Hospital in serious condition on Sunday afternoon. Sources in the hospital said that so far five patients suffering from monkey fever have died in the hospital.
