Udupi: Tenka GP gets four concrete roads under Adani CSR at Rs 32.52 lac

Udupi, Mar 5: Adani owned UPCL, which is operating power plants at Yellur village in Udupi district, on Monday inaugurated 4 newly constructed concrete roads in the limits of Tenka Grama Panchayat. The roads were developed under the CSR programme of Adani at a cost of Rs 32.52 lac.

Road from NH 66 to Lachil measuring 150 metres, Road from Fisheries road to Sri Rama Bhajana Mandir measuring 140 metres, 180 metres road length in Vajpayee Colony and 260 metres road length in Ward no. 6 are the roads that are developed under Adani CSR programme and was inaugurated jointly by Kishore Alva, President of Adani UPCL and Aruna Kumari, President of Tenka gram panchayat.

Inaugurating the roads, Alva informed that Adani has earmarked a special package under its CSR fund for developing the rural infrastructure facilities in the villages located in the plant vicinity and Rs 2.56 crore worth development works were committed to Tenka gram panchayat for a period of 3 years. Against the commitment, Adani has till date executed development works worth Rs. 1.21 crore and works worth Rs 21 lac are in progress, Alva added. He also told that the Tenka panchayat has already given the list of works for execution and soon it would be taken-up by the company.

Later Aruna Kumari spoke and thanked Adani for delivering the development works under CSR in the villages, which is benefitting the society.
