Mangaluru: Konkani Biblical play 'Vinchavnh’ staged at Padua College grounds

Mangaluru, Mar 6: Konkani Biblical play ‘Vinchavnh’ was staged by the priests of Mangaluru diocese at Padua college grounds.

The play is written by Fr Alwyn Serrao and directed by Christy Neenasam and Clenvin Fernandes. As many as 18 priests of the diocese of Mangaluru acted in the drama. The drama carries a tone of Gospel message and the Jesus’ passion which is made applicable to the present day life situation.

Bishop of Mangaluru Dr Peter Paul Saldanha, former bishop of Mangaluru Dr Aloysius Paul D’Souza, bishop of Bellary Dr Henry D’Souza, vicar general, priests and religious sisters and a large number of faithful were present.



 

It was appreciated by the audience and felt that the Gospel values are to be presented likewise.

Fr Bonavanture Nazreth welcomed the gathering. There are another eight shows all over the diocese of Mangaluru and even in Udupi. There have been requests for more shows.
