Sarva Janotsava office inaugurated in Udupi

Udupi, Mar 7: The office of ‘Sarva Janotsava’ was inaugurated by former Kaup MLA Vinay Kumar Sorake on Wednesday, March 6.

Sarva Janotsava is organised by Sahabalve group and will be held on March 17 at Kalsanka Royal.

Water Resources Minister D K Shivakumar, CPM general-secretary Sitaram Yechury, Dinesh Amin Mattu and other state leaders are likely to attend the event on March 17.

“Udupi is famed for its rich history. Udupi residents are peace lovers and believe in leading a harmonious life. The district is famed for its hotel business, education and NRI population. Udupi is always in the forefront in the State. There is strong bonding between Krishna math and church. People of different religions live together in Udupi. To spread the message of ‘harmony’, Sahabalve is organising this ‘Sarva Janotsava’ programme,” said Vinay Kumar Sorake.

Former MLA Gopal Bhandary said, “Harmony is essential today. But today we do not trust each other, and there is confusion among communities. We need to come out from this. We should not be narrow minded and should not encourage communal violence,” he said.

Yogish Shetty, JD(S) district president said, “This awareness programme is needed to prevent unpleasant incidents. Opposition parties are misleading the people. Let’s keep and maintain peace. Let’s do work with responsibly.”

Amrith Shenoy, president of the Sahabalve group extended the welcome and briefed the audience about the Sarva Janotsava programme.

G Rajshekhar, Veronica Cornelio, Roshini Oliver, Prashanth Jathanna and others were present.

The new office is located at ground floor, Sithara complex, Thenkapete, Udupi.
