Mangalore, Feb 13:  Despite the assurance of full security by the top police officials, Mangalore is still showing room for threat and violence.  When people started taking a sigh of relief after the soft stand on Valentine's day by Rama sene, the arrest of Rama Sene leaders and deployment of security personnel around the city and assurance by top cop DGP Ajay Singh, another irritating incident was reported from Mangalore city limits late  Friday night.

A  bus  hired by students of P A Engineering College Mangalore for their college tour  , en route to Bangalore was  stopped  near A B Shetty  circle by miscreants at 10 pm , Friday 13 February,  after threatening   its  driver.

The bus owned H N  travels was  booked  by the  students  of  P A  engineering college to take them on their annual educational  tour to  Bangalore.

It is reported that the bus was on its way to pick up students from Pandeswara area when it was stopped near A B Shetty circle by unknown persons who came on bikes.

The driver who was visibly upset over their threats refused to move the bus from the spot.  Within a short span of time, people started gathering, and police arrived at the spot.  The police, however, asked driver to move the bus away.

Circle   inspector Thilakachandra,  who  rushed to the  spot  said, he  assured an escort of two police jeeps  to  continue the  tour , but driver refused .

According to the College sources the tour has been cancelled.

The incident adds yet another black mole on the city's ongoing problems.

No group has yet claimed any responsibility over the incident.  The motive behind the whole episode is also not known.

Looks like there's something fishy about the driver. Why would he refuse to go ahead with the tour even if the police offered escort personnel? Looks like someone paid him off to do this so that the blame would shift to the same people who are being blamed the moment someone even coughs in M'lore these days!!! Some events seem to be falling into place too conveniently to be true !!!!!!!

Dear Anil Dsouza People like you voted for BJP and after experiencing so much violence in Mangalore you still say Political game... Churches Broken, Nuns and priests along with our brothers and sisters were beaten, women attacked.. Why there was no political drama before BJP govt? Simple reason preciously govt support was not there..now all these ppl have got blanket cover from govt.. If the law prevails why there is no action? Why police sitting quietly..why are they not taking action against a single person? God Bless You

It is all Congress' game, elections are coming and they are acting like cowards. They are doing all this directly or indirectly. In politics all is fare It is at the peace of the society and lives of the people. Other wise why should people vote for Congress in May. Where are the Poojaries and Vokkaligasthe Congress leader. Why don't they come in front and lead the people. While at center Congress is ruling, it is promoting these things to happen so that they gain vote bank. All must think of BJP in May even if it is currupt because it is batter of the two evils.

Why do these goons are not meted out the right treatment? Why do they run away from the spot after what they have done? If they are morally right in doing what they have done why don't they face the consequences? Why should they escape? They are cowards and misguided, jobless and aimless youth that is spoiling the harmonious fabric of the society. Are the police and the political personnel too of the same sort to allow all this even after knowing the evil intentions of these goons.

I feel that the College Management while conducting such Tours takes the Escort of Police beforehand. This threatening attitude will not stop as the Law is very weak. Any Action by Police after the Incident does not serve any purpose as the damage is already done. I feel such situation will have a real impact on the future education institutes in Mangalore. It is time that all college Management join together to put forth a memorandum to the Chief Minister, Home Minister and the Concerned Police to wipe out this menace by enacting the Goonda Act even to First Timers and all others too. It is time to move forward to change. "Change or Perish"
