BJP Committed to Construction of Ram Temple: Advani

Press Trust of India

GORAKHPUR, Feb 16:
Senior BJP leader L K Advani on Sunday raked up the Ram Temple issue again, saying it was the party's resolve to build the temple in Ayodhya and claimed that the issue had catapulted the party to power at the Centre earlier.

"The party has not forgotten its resolve to construct Ram temple in Ayodhya. It was the Mandir issue, which finally took BJP to power at the Centre and several states and changed the course of Indian politics," he said.

"The BJP is still committed to the construction of Ram Mandir. The real essence of 'Jai Sri Ram' can be realised only after the Ram Temple is built in Ayodhya," he said while addressing 'Rashtra Raksha Vijay Sankalp Rally' here.

The BJP's prime ministerial candidate said five years of UPA Government witnessed upsurge in terrorism and accused the Centre of worsening the plight of common man.

He claimed that there were no cases of farmers' suicide in BJP-ruled states, while such incidents were occurring in non-BJP states.

Advani charged Prime Minister Manmohan Singh with working on the dictates of UPA Chairperson Sonia Gandhi.

Dear Citizens of India..... Advani's last wish is to become a prime minister of India atleast for a day or two. For that he is ready to make any type of propoganda related to Babri Masjid which he himself knows impossible as long as the matter is in the court. Court will deliver the verdict against or infavor of any community in due course. My appeal to all Indians before casting your valuable vote...'THINK BEFORE INK' Dont listen to all these types of propoganda..

Dear Simon of USA, we Indians must never bend to any pressure tactics or blackmailing. During Atal Behari Vajapyees tenure, the whole world put sanctions on India for nuclear test by the NDA government. India emerged stronger than the pre Pokhran era inspite of the sanctions.  Why did Vasco da Gama come to India? Why did the British rule our country for two centuries? Inspite of looting for two centuries, India emerged as a stronger nation than the pre independent era. So do not worry about India regarding economic & crash crunch. INDIA WILL BE RAISED TO NO.1 SLOT IN NEAR FUTURE. JAI BHARATH MATA.

I respectfully disagree with Simon, USA on some of his comments he made. The IT companies hire Indians with H1B visa because they work hard and for less money than local Americans. These IT companies are looking after their own profits and hiring Indians with H1B visa made sense to them. Mr.Simon you could be one of those who lost your job in IT because of downsizing. These IT compnaies are global and they have set up their shops across the globe. They just look for the talent at lower cost wherever available.

Advaniji, I would have appreciated if your agenda was economic development, self reliance in technology, moving from moon further into the space, housing for the INDIAN still considering footpath as his home, education of children whose parents can hardly earn to survive, elimination of crime and POLITICAL CRIME...... the list is endless. Unfortunately the only agenda you have today is building a temple. Your party and followers have done enough harm to Indian society by spreading hatred. It is time you realize that the terrorism you see today is a direct result of what was sown by demolishing Babri Masjid. Are you still not satisfied and you want to do more of the same thing and spill more INDIAN BLOOD? Is BJP bankrupt of good ideas that they have resort to the same old theme? Do you think that real Hindus are so dumb that they agree to vote for you just to construct a temple? It is time that BJP does some introspection and come up with an agenda that people are looking for.

Mr. Simon USA, You have rightly pointed out these two Mr. Ganesh Nayak, Mr. Bhat . I ask them to Go to America and ask Americans if their  culture is good or bad? Ask Europeans  about their culture ,good or bad? Ask Middle Eastern people about their culture, good or bad? Ask Australians about their culture, good or bad? Ask Russians about their culture,  good or bad? I am sure all these will receive answers from each nation that their cultures are one of the best in the world as these say our Indian culture is one of the best in the world. If that is the case for what these are competing as we have lot of preachers than practicing people. Dear Mr. Simon it is very hard to mend  the minds which are poisoned unless they mingle and reside with multinational people.

Ram Temple in Ayodhya is something which is near & dear to most Hindus. But there is a dispute. I personally believe the dispute is a creation of BJP, otherwise there could have been a temple built by now. When there is communal colour, ego, religious sentiments are mixed, it is not going to be smooth ride to anyone. I truly doubt, resolving this dispute is possible without blood shed, in prevailing conditions.

I think this dispute may be (to repeat, may be), resolved by someone impartial, sincere, honest broker of peace taking up the cause, while engaging the parties in dialogue.

Yes Mr.Advani is right… for once he is 100% right….the Temple for Ram should be built. But not in Ayodhya with stones, cement and concrete…..but in each and every Indian citizen’s heart…..with true blessings of the grand old man of Indian politics...at least that he should do before he passes away. Mr.Narasimha Bhat my drawing Master in the St.Aloysius Middle School who taught me to play the harmonium and Indian classical singing, when I was just eight, and in the 4th standard (in 1960), taught me that the holy word “Ram” means “True Love and Peace”…..

Dear Nagesh nayak, Bangalore and M.Bhat, Mumbai, I am not sure if you both think enough before you write your comments. In last eight months, I have seen same type of language and if you both ever realized what you have been saying. God bless you and hope you both are mature enough and adults to understand what global economy means and how much dependency Indian economy is on other countries. Is it appropriate to comment that “ERADICATION OF WESTERN CULTURE”. I agree if you state that same comment with ending that “ERADICATION OF WESTERN CULTURE in my family and household”. First of all, there is nothing like western culture, people choose to live by their chosen way and based on means available to them. It is very annoying to see your half baked knowledge . Please note that there is major uproar in India these days when US is planning to pass a bill in the congress that no H-I visas issued for those companies bailed out by the government. When all IT companies depend so much on major European and American companies, why are we so narrow minded in our thinking and discussions? As a common citizen, we will never realize the impact that may cause on those from Management who are involved in getting new contracts and continue existing business with other countries. India will fail miserably with narrow minded people in Government and in places where decisions are made that will impact the common person.

Our national poet,Gurudev Rabindranath Tagore, revered by all Indians speaks for all of us in this poem in his collection, Gitanjali. BJP, please come down to earth and take note of this ground reality. "Leave this chanting and singing and telling of beads! Whom dost thou worship in this lonely dark corner of a temple with doors all shut? Open thine eyes and see thy God is not before thee! He is there where the tiller is tilling the hard ground and where the pathmaker is breaking stones. He is with them in sun and in shower, and his garment is covered with dust. Put off thy holy mantle and even like him come down on the dusty soil!

Come out of thy meditations and leave aside thy flowers and incense! What harm is there if thy clothes become tattered and stained? Meet him and stand by him in toil and in sweat of thy brow." Aren't there sufficient people with dusty and tattered clothes, toiling in the sun and rain for BJP or any other political party to worry about? Serving God is done by working for HIS people- adult statesmen should know that. !

'Ello hudukide illda devara kallu mannina gudiyolage' - G. S. Shivarudrappa. We all have grown up learning this song in our primary school may be we were just too small to dicipher the meaning of the song or concentrating more on putting down into the answer sheet whenever it appeared in the exams.

I can still remember the song (I need to admit I have forgotten the complete lyrics though) and its contents. What is the use building temples/structure and worshipping god when you are filled with hatred within your hearts.

Advani is seeking to destroy Indian secular fabric. Rather than taking a hard line stand, let him be more secular and take the lead in building a beautiful Ram temple, a splendid mosque, a great church and a magnificent gurudwara, so that it is appreciated and welcomed.

But remember Mr Advani, we have many more priorities and core issues to be addressed than building a temple. Dont fool the public in the name of religion. The Ram temple doctrine shall lead you to the defeat of the century. good luck.

It is not a mature propaganda.Any Educated person even if he is a Hindu, will not like the party's agenda such as building Ram temple. The world is suffering from Terrorism., and great leaders and social workers are striving day and night how to put an end to it. Indians know that building Ram temple is not an easy task because it is a sensitive and controversial matter. It may invite bloodshed of innocent people.

Mr. Advani said 'It was the party's resolve to build the temple in Ayodhya and claimed that the issue had catapulted the party to power at the Centre earlier'. It shows that BJP's power hunger. Educated people always look forward for the developmental aspects. As India is a Hidu majority nation, you can try with this agenda to come to power but an educated even if he is a Hindu, will think twice what we can acheive by building Ram temple there?

My kind suggestion to the party is think about building a beautiful temple in your own heart and promote development of the nation.Lord Rama will like to stay there and lead you and the nation.

People are not worried about Advani building Ram Temple. They are more interested in ROTI KAPADA OR MAKAN. Advani let this be your slogan and not Ram Temple which is a Secondary issue to be solved.
