Mangaluru: Girl raped after fake promise of marriage - case registered against contractor

Mangaluru, Mar 11: A case was registered against Jagadish (53), a resident of Moodushedde on the outskirts of the city, at Kavoor police station for allegedly raping a 20-year-old girl of north Karnataka origin, who used to work in his site as labourer, with the promise of marrying her.

Jagadish, who is a contractor by profession made the young girl believe that he will marry her and raped her. However, the accused is already married and has two children as per the complaint filed by the victim.

A case under IPC 376 for rape and IPC 506 for threatening has been registered against the accused Jagadish. Kavoor police are on the hunt to apprehend the culprit.
